Provider Transition

Changing providers shouldn't create a new financial problem.

A good transition establishes what exists, what is missing, what reconciles, what remains unresolved, and who owns each responsibility before ongoing work begins.

Transition review may include

  • Records inventory
  • Systems and access inventory
  • Bank and opening-balance review
  • Prior reports and open reporting periods
  • Outstanding transactions and unresolved items
  • Reconciliation status
  • Filing calendar and deadlines
  • Known corrections or historical issues
  • Responsibility handoff
  • Transition documentation

A strong fit when

  • The committee is leaving another provider
  • A treasurer or finance staff member is departing
  • Historical balances are not clearly supported
  • Access, records, and responsibilities are fragmented across people or systems

Establish the baseline before ongoing work begins.

Provider transition is not simply an account-access exercise. Ferrenhall's objective is to understand the condition of the records and unresolved issues so the new operating process starts from a documented baseline.
